A Sustained Partnership for Sustainable Development
|
|
|
An intimate connection between San Diego and the
Buduburam Refugee Settlement in Ghana
provides the foundation for long term and focused aid programs that will result in
a self-sustainable African community. An Africa Aid Assessment Team collects visual,
numerical, and statistical data from the
Buduburam Refugee Settlement,
and sustains the collaboration with the well-equipped network of San Diego professionals,
faculty, and students. To maximize progress, the Africa Aid model requires the involvement
of three key elements found in the San Diego area:
|
|
San Diego: Partner to the Buduburam Liberian Refugee Settlement
|
|
|
Africa Aid has established a vast network of support within the San Diego
community. As the
Buduburam Liberian Refugee Settlement
struggles to establish basic
Health Care,
Education,
Water,
and
Economic Empowerment
infrastructure, Africa Aid is presenting the poverty driven problems of Buduburam to the
San Diego information and planning network. San Diego is taking responsibility for this
displaced African community, confronting the ills of extreme poverty while making an investment
in our nations youth.

Africa Aid: Partner to the San Diego Community
|
|
|
Africa Aid believes that an investment in the San Diego community is a sound
investment in the future of Africa. Africa Aid infuses into San Diego education systems, with
University, High School, and Elementary School outreach programs. Local community events such
as Africa Aids annual Art Twogether art auction fundraising event showcase
African culture through art and media, while fundraisers such as
Africa Aid T-Shirts raise
African awareness through focused personal contact.
