Why Africa?
Friends

Here at Africa Aid, we are creating an exciting new model of nonprofit assistance that enriches lives both here and abroad. Our unique community-to-community vision is driven by a set of basic human values that are integrated within Africa Aid’s project initiatives.

Values

Smart Aid
Prior to providing foreign assistance, Africa Aid insists on obtaining quality information about our aid recipients. Gathered information includes the characterization of local African needs and local conditions, which allows us to create incentives for local people to participate in our programs. This process allows Africa Aid to tailor specific community-based assistance programs to our recipients and greatly increase the likelihood program success.

Aid with Conscience
Rather than imposing aid on African communities, Africa Aid holds itself to strict values of cultural consciousness. By deriving aid projects from community requests we ensure that our work is sensitive to local culture and results in self-sustainable programs.

Environmental Awareness
By educating communities about the importance of sustainable development, we can plant the seeds for a better future. Africa Aid aims to minimize negative environmental impacts by designing cost-effective and environmentally sound project initiatives.

Mobilizing Resources
By cultivating a network of support, Africa Aid directs domestic resources to targeted African communities. In this channeling process, not only do we achieve the goal of helping those African communities most in need, but we also enrich the lives of citizens here at home.

Domestic Enrichment
Local organizations and institutions have a unique opportunity to provide students with the resources to design practical projects and gain valuable "real world" career training. Africa Aid increases international awareness and fosters cultural sensitivity through local education programs that utilize visual, audio, and physical data from Africa.

Project Initiatives

Education
Every individual deserves an affordable and accessible quality education. Africa Aid works to expand classroom opportunities for both children and adults with a focus on literacy, health awareness, school lunch programs, and teacher training.

Economic Empowerment
Providing small business loans will empower both men and women to become economically self-sufficient and enable communities to defeat poverty. In addition, Africa Aid will work to export local African crafts and return a fair living wage to workers.
